Our services

Our Carpentry Services in Savannah

All your work handled by qualified professionals in Savannah

Wood Rot & Dry Rot Repair

We cut back to sound wood, find the water that caused it, and rebuild to last.

Included in your service

  • Probing to map how far the decay actually runs
  • Decayed framing, siding and trim cut out, not filled over
  • Rebuilt in redwood, Douglas fir or primed rot-resistant stock
  • The moisture source traced and closed, or the rot returns
Learn more→

Termite Damage Repair

The exterminator handles the insects. We rebuild the wood they left behind.

Included in your service

  • We work from your pest inspection report, section by section
  • Eaten studs, sill plates, rim joists and subfloor replaced
  • Structural integrity restored before finishes go back on
  • No treatment, no fumigation: pest control is a separate trade
Learn more→

Floor Joist & Subfloor Repair

Soft, bouncy or sloping floors almost always start under the finish surface.

Included in your service

  • Joists, subfloor and bearing points inspected from below
  • Sistering where a joist is sound enough to keep
  • Full joist or subfloor replacement where it is not
  • Straight answer on what is old settling and what is real damage
Learn more→

Beam Replacement & Load-Bearing Wall Removal

Real structural carpentry: engineered beams, headers, and openings done to spec.

Included in your service

  • Temporary shoring set before anything load-bearing comes out
  • Engineered beams and headers installed to the drawings
  • We say plainly when your job needs a structural engineer first
  • Built to the permit set, ready for city inspection
Learn more→

Framing & Structural Carpentry

Straight, plumb and square: the bones every finish detail depends on.

Included in your service

  • New interior walls, openings, garage and basement build-outs
  • Stud framing, headers and blocking sized for the span
  • Fire and water damaged framing cut back and rebuilt
  • Laid out so drywall, trim and cabinets land where they should
Learn more→

Finish & Trim Carpentry

Tight miters, scribed fits, consistent reveals. This is where a carpenter shows.

Included in your service

  • Casing, paneling and wainscoting fitted to the room as built
  • Scribing to walls that are neither flat nor plumb
  • Coped joints on inside corners instead of caulked gaps
  • Profiles matched to existing Victorian and Edwardian millwork
Learn more→

Crown Molding & Baseboard Installation

Crown, base and casing cut for the ceiling you actually have, not a perfect one.

Included in your service

  • Coped inside corners, mitered and glued outside corners
  • Baseboard, chair rail and window trim run to a clean line
  • Period profiles matched or kept crisp and modern, your call
  • Filled, sanded and caulked ready for paint
Learn more→

Custom Built-Ins & Shelving

Built for the alcove you have: bay windows, sloped ceilings, awkward corners.

Included in your service

  • Bookshelves, window seats, media walls and Murphy beds
  • Designed around compact floor plans, not around stock sizes
  • Scribed and shimmed so nothing reads as an add-on
  • Face frames, doors and drawers aligned before we leave
Learn more→

Interior Door Installation & Repair

Doors that stick or swing open on their own are usually the frame, not the door.

Included in your service

  • Jamb, hinges and reveal checked before anything is replaced
  • Doors hung, planed and adjusted to a settled opening
  • Damaged jambs and door frames repaired rather than swapped
  • Pocket and barn door hardware installed and tuned
Learn more→

Exterior & Entry Door Installation

Entry, back and French doors set weather-tight against fog and wind-driven rain.

Included in your service

  • Opening flashed and sill pan set before the unit goes in
  • Rotted frames and thresholds repaired or fully replaced
  • Shimmed plumb so the door seals along its whole edge
  • Weatherstripping, hardware and strike plates fitted properly
Learn more→

Cabinet & Vanity Installation

Level cabinets in a house where almost nothing is level. That is the whole job.

Included in your service

  • Floors and walls checked and a true level line struck first
  • Boxes shimmed, scribed to out-of-square walls and fastened
  • Kitchen, bath vanity and laundry storage set as one run
  • Doors, drawers and hardware aligned and adjusted at the end
Learn more→

Stair & Railing Repair

Squeaky treads and loose banisters, repaired without rebuilding the whole stair.

Included in your service

  • Stringers, treads and risers checked for wear and movement
  • Loose newel posts and balusters re-anchored, not just glued
  • Period railings restored where the original stock is sound
  • Handrails and attic ladders installed to code height and grip
Learn more→

Deck & Porch Repair

Repair first. We only recommend replacing when the framing no longer justifies it.

Included in your service

  • Boards, posts, stairs and framing probed for hidden decay
  • Rotted members replaced, sound structure kept and reused
  • Ledger connection and flashing checked where the deck meets the house
  • An honest repair-versus-replace number before work starts
Learn more→

Fascia, Soffit & Exterior Trim Repair

Soft fascia and peeling paint at the roofline are the first sign of rot moving in.

Included in your service

  • Fascia, soffit and exterior trim replaced back to sound wood
  • Primed rot-resistant material on all six faces before install
  • Gaps closed so moisture and pests stop getting into the roofline
  • Ready for paint, with the water path corrected first

“We had this massive beam in our 1920s colonial that was showing serious rot, and I was terrified about the cost and disruption. Savannah Carpentry came out, assessed it professionally, and replaced the whole thing without making a mess of our living space. The crew worked efficiently over three days, and honestly, I was shocked at how seamlessly they handled the structural work. Best decision we made.”

“Had them install new interior doors throughout the upstairs, six doors total, and the trim work was immaculate. The old doors were sticking and warped, but these new ones hang perfectly and the finish carpentry around the frames looks like it belongs in a magazine. Only minor thing was they took an extra half-day than quoted, but the quality made up for it.”

“Found water damage under our kitchen from an old leak, and the subfloor was basically spongy. I called Savannah Carpentry expecting a nightmare, but they cut out the damaged section, replaced the joists, and reinstalled the subfloor in two days. They even sealed everything properly so it won't happen again. Couldn't be happier with the work.”

“Our old hardwood stairs were creaking like crazy and the banister was loose, safety hazard with kids in the house. These guys tightened everything up, replaced a few treads, and reinforced the railing. The stairs are solid now and look restored instead of rickety. Really professional outfit.”

“Termite damage got into the support posts on our back porch, and we were worried the whole thing might collapse. Savannah Carpentry identified the extent of the rot, replaced the damaged wood, and treated the area to prevent future issues. The posts look brand new and the porch is safe again, that's all that mattered to us.”

“After the pest guy confirmed termites in our foundation sills, I was dreading the repair work. Savannah Carpentry came in and systematically replaced the damaged structural wood in our crawlspace, they were thorough, organized, and the cleanup was spotless. I felt confident the work was done right and won't have to worry about it for years.”
